Changing our relationships to fashion & textiles through knowledge, community, collaboration & heritage.
About our organisation
Khadi London is a not-for-profit knowledge hub specialising in regenerative fibres and textiles.
Our vision
Working across borders, we partner with rural communities and artisan groups involved in the production of ethical, heritage and sustainable textiles crafted from cotton, wool, hemp, nettle, flax, peace silk and beyond.
As a diverse team, we have extensive experience in ethical fashion, heritage textiles, building equitable value chains, design thinking and development, and regenerative farming. We bring a unique perspective, sharing our knowledge through consultancy, research and workshops. We also facilitate knowledge-exchange collaborations, events and training.
The four pillars of our work are knowledge, collaboration, community and heritage.
Our goals
In deep collaboration with practitioners within the fashion and textile industry, we aim to research, implement, and communicate solutions for a more socially and environmentally responsible industry. Our core goals are to:
• Develop innovative, long-lasting solutions to address pressing industry challenges.
• Support businesses in implementing sustainable strategies into their models such as sourcing, designing, producing and storytelling.
• Document and disseminate the potential of knowledge-exchange and collaboration through case studies and events.
• Amplify underrepresented voices and perspectives
• Implement diverse knowledge into fashion, textile and design curriculums to foster more holistic practices.
Our Services
We work across education & training, consultancy, knowledge-based events and courses, and research & collaboration.
Case Studies
From facilitating ethical cross-cultural collaborations between designers and artisans, to hosting knowledge-exchange conferences and festivals, our case studies each work towards our mission of pioneering a responsible industry.
